Kindergarten Graduation
Graduation provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and creativity of our students. This year’s ceremony was no exception. We had a full house at the Take Root Center as twenty-two Kindergarten Graduate students received their ‘diplomas’ to advance to first grade next year. Awards were also presented for top academic performances as well as for character, improvement and innovation.Parents could not contain their pride and began to shower their graduates with flowers mid-ceremony. Throughout the morning, students entertained guests with a variety of songs, games and skits. During one brief lull in the program, one of the Pre-K students took it upon himself to begin fukera, an Ethiopian war chant, to mobilize the students and audience. Only the staff knew that this was not planned in advance. Such impromptu displays of confidence and initiative are exactly what make our students unique!Thank you for your support!
